Christopher Adu Boahen, son of the late Albert Adu Boahen, who contested as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate in the 1992 elections, was tragically murdered in his residence in East Legon. Unknown assailants reportedly broke into his home, ransacked the premises, and in the ensuing altercation, took his life.
Christopher, known to be physically challenged, was a graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he studied electrical engineering. His 1995 year group at KNUST expressed shock and sadness at the news, describing the perpetrators as “wicked persons” who had robbed Christopher not only of his possessions but also of his life.
The police have barricaded Christopher’s home in East Legon, declaring it a crime scene as investigations into the incident are ongoing. The family and friends of Christopher, including his brother Charles Adu Boahen, who previously served in the Akufo-Addo government, are devastated by the loss. Charles Adu Boahen resigned from his government position in November 2022.
