Consumers are expected to benefit from a slight reduction in fuel prices following the National Petroleum Authority’s (NPA) announcement of new price floors for the second pricing window of April.

Under the revised structure, petrol is expected to sell at a minimum price of GH¢13.27 per litre, a marginal decrease from GH¢13.30 per litre in the previous window.

Diesel has recorded a more significant reduction, with the new price floor set at GH¢16.10 per litre, down by GH¢1 from GH¢17.10 per litre.

However, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has seen a slight increase, rising to GH¢10.79 per kilogram from GH¢10.71 per kilogram.

The adjustments indicate a downward trend in petrol and diesel prices, offering some relief to consumers, while LPG prices continue to edge upward.

The price floor represents the minimum rate at which fuel marketers are allowed to sell petroleum products under Ghana’s pricing guidelines.

The new pricing structure takes effect ahead of a planned government intervention expected to suspend selected taxes and margins in the upcoming pricing window beginning April 16.

Fuel prices in recent weeks have been influenced by global oil market fluctuations, driven in part by geopolitical tensions affecting crude supply and pricing.
