At least six people have lost their lives, while several others sustained various degrees of injuries following a deadly collision between a Hyundai Urvan and a trailer on the Obuasi–Kyekyewere road in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The tragic incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Preliminary information indicates that the trailer reportedly lost control upon reaching Aboagye Motors near the Obuasi court junction. The loss of control caused the vehicle to veer into the path of the Hyundai Urvan, resulting in the fatal crash.
Emergency teams arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Obuasi Government Hospital morgue, while the injured victims are receiving treatment at the same facility.
Authorities have since commenced investigations to determine the cause of the accident and the sequence of events leading to the collision.
