The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra will temporarily close its doors to the public on Saturday, December 27, 2025, to enable management to undertake critical internal operational activities. The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, by the Acting Executive Director, Dr. Collins R. Nunyonameh, who explained that the one-day shutdown is necessary to facilitate essential internal arrangements.
According to the statement, the facility will not be accessible to visitors during the period of closure. Management has therefore advised the public, including both local and international tourists, to take note of the date when planning visits to the historic site, which attracts thousands of patrons annually.
The Park is expected to resume full operations on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause. Your understanding and cooperation are deeply appreciated as we continue to uphold the standards and service experience that the Park is known for,” the statement said.
The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, refurbished and reopened in 2023, remains one of Ghana’s most iconic cultural and historical destinations. It is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President and a leading figure in the Pan-African movement. The site continues to serve as a major attraction for tourists, students, researchers, and visitors who wish to explore Ghana’s political and historical heritage.
