Three fathers in Kasoa have been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing their own daughters after the Awutu Senya East Municipal Education Directorate lodged a formal complaint with the Ghana Police Service.

According to officials from the directorate, the victims disclosed the disturbing incidents to the Girl-Child and Guidance and Counselling coordinators, raising alarm over what they described as an increasing pattern of child abuse within the municipality.

Police moved swiftly to act on the complaint, leading to the arrest of all three suspects. They are currently assisting with investigations as authorities work to gather statements and evidence to support the case.

The Municipal Education Directorate expressed deep concern about the vulnerability of children in the area, noting that violations of children’s rights continue to be widespread. The directorate called for stronger collaboration among community leaders, security agencies, social services, and schools to improve protection for minors.

Officials also highlighted a major gap in child protection services, pointing out that despite the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) operating 16 regional and 182 district offices across the country, the Awutu Senya East Municipality still lacks a CHRAJ office. They warned that this absence leaves many victims without convenient access to essential support systems, legal assistance, and follow-up services.

The arrests have heightened public concern in Kasoa, with many calling for quicker intervention mechanisms and a stronger child protection framework to ensure justice and support for victims.
