A 21-year-old final-year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Daniel Tuffuor, has been remanded into police custody over the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Joana Deladem Yabani, also a final-year student at the university.

Tuffuor was arrested on February 27, 2025, after Joana’s lifeless body was discovered on campus earlier that morning. University security alerted the police, leading to his arrest.

Authorities believe the two were in a romantic relationship at the time of the incident.
