“Richard Dela Sky’s Suit Should Also be Ruled Out” – Sam George Calls for Equitable Treatment in Supreme Court Cases

Ningo Prampram MP, Samuel Nartey George, has criticized the Supreme Court’s handling of legal cases, expressing surprise at the order in which cases are being prioritized. He specifically cited the court’s decision to address the case of South Dayi MP, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, ahead of private legal practitioner, Richard Dela Sky, as a point of contention.

Richard Dela Sky had filed an application on March 5, seeking a declaration that the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, also known as the anti-gay bill, is null, void, and of no effect. Sam George argued that the court’s order of proceedings should have prioritized the case involving the anti-gay bill before turning to the matter of the South Dayi MP.

In his statement, Sam George expressed surprise at the delay in addressing the Richard Sky case, which has been pending for almost four weeks, while newer cases are being heard first. He emphasized the importance of applying the same principle to all cases, suggesting that if the court’s approach were consistent, the Richard Sky case would also be dismissed as frivolous, as the Supreme Court has no power to stay the hands of the president.

Sam George called for a fair and unbiased approach from the judiciary, particularly from the Chief Justice, urging them to prioritize cases based on common sense and the principles of legislation and judiciary work.
