Democracy Hub convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has reported that he was robbed near the Achimota Overhead on Wednesday, November 20, 2025, losing several valuable items during the attack.
In a Facebook post made less than 30 minutes after the incident, Barker-Vormawor revealed that the robbers made away with a MacBook, an iPad, a Google Pixel 9 smartphone, Sony headphones, two wallets, house keys, several books, and GH₵9,500 in cash. His credit cards were also taken. The post ended with a short “Hmmm,” capturing his shock and disappointment.
Hours later, he returned with an unexpected update, stating that the Google Pixel 9 had been recovered but was completely destroyed. According to him, the phone may have fallen from the robber during the escape and was later run over by a vehicle.
Barker-Vormawor has not yet provided details about how the attack happened and has not confirmed whether the matter has been officially reported to the police.
The development has generated widespread concern on social media, with many users calling for improved security along major road corridors in Accra to curb rising incidents of robbery.
