Ghana’s two leading political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), are holding their final rallies today in Accra ahead of the December 7 elections.
The NPP has chosen the University of Ghana Sports Park for their gathering, while the NDC will meet at Zurak Park in Madina. Both events are expected to attract large crowds, with the Ghana Police Service implementing heightened security measures, including deploying two helicopters for aerial monitoring.
To prevent congestion and potential clashes, traffic diversions have been introduced in key areas.
NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NDC flagbearer John Mahama are set to address their supporters, delivering final messages to energize their respective bases.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has emphasized the importance of peaceful rallies and adherence to designated routes, urging both parties and their supporters to cooperate with police officers stationed at key points to ensure safety and order.
