To ensure a smooth electoral process, the Electoral Commission (EC) has engaged speed boats to transport materials to remote locations, including the dwarf islands in the Afram Plains North and South constituencies.
Additionally, the EC has partnered with the Ghana Air Force, utilizing helicopters to expedite the movement of materials and the collation of results in areas with poor road access and limited internet connectivity.
This approach addresses challenges encountered during the 2020 elections when network issues caused delays in receiving results from hard-to-reach areas. John Appiah Baffour, Eastern Regional Director of the EC, expressed confidence in the new measures, emphasizing that they aim to facilitate timely declaration of results.
“We have hired speedboats to retrieve the results and engaged the Ghana Army to airlift materials, ensuring a seamless process,” he assured.
