The former priestess of the Sika Gari shrine was looking very pretty as she ministered her song to the congregants.

As she sang the song, she was being backed by the entire choir and some members of the congregation who knew the song.

The pastor of the church appeared in the background as he paced up and down the altar while enjoying Agradaa’s ministration.

‘It Is An Error To Give Birth For A Man In The Name Of Locking Him Down’ – Empress Gifty Cautions Ladies

'It Is An Error To Give Birth For A Man In The Name Of Locking Him Down' - Empress Gifty Cautions Ladies

Gospel musician Empress Gifty has cautioned young ladies to avoid the notion of getting pregnant for men in an attempt to lure them for marriage.

According to Empress, unless a man makes up his mind to marry a woman, there is nothing that can convince him to do otherwise even if it involves a baby.

She directed her words of wisdom towards single women who wish to use pregnancy as a bait to secure men in their lives.

She said: No woman should say someone has given birth for a man so she is also thinking of doing the same. Especially the ‘side chics’…You cannot keep a man with pregnancy. I know a woman who wanted to give birth to a boy for her husband because she had four females… eventually, the man’s side girl gave birth to a boy for him but he went ahead to forget her.

According to the gospel musician, she would rather advise women to work hard and cater for themselves than rely on a man to project their future.

Work for yourself… be the boss and enjoy yourself. Enjoy the fruit of your hard work. It is an error to give birth for a man in the name of locking him down, she said.

Here Are 5 Reasons Why MzVee Is The Perfect Ghanaian Artiste

Here Are 5 Reasons Why MzVee Is The Perfect Ghanaian Artiste

Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda has become something of a national darling since she burst onto the scene back in 2012.

Since then, MzVee, as she’s more commonly known, has been the voice behind a number of the biggest hits of the last decade and acknowledged as one of the nation’s best female artistes in the 21st century.

Despite a decade of almost unparalleled success and consistency, a few people still seem to need some more convincing about MzVee’s greatness.

Well here are five reasons why the ‘Natural Girl” deserves all the plaudits and much more.

Teenage prodigy
While she may be known as a solo talent now, Vee got her beginnings as a third of the all-girl trio D3.

Despite the group breaking up not long after, their first single ‘Bad Girl’ was a massive hit, with Vee, in particular, coming in for a lot of praise. Her talents were apparent even at such a young age.

Collaboration queen
Being a solo artiste doesn’t always mean you have to do it all alone and MzVee has shown that she can play very well with others. Many artistes, while great on their own, often struggle to strike the right balance when they pair up with others; MzVee isn’t one of them.

While keeping up her quality whenever she puts another artiste on her song, she constantly elevates every track she features on, turning it into an instant hit.

‘Natural Girl’, her collabo with Stonebwoy was a critical hit while other pairings with Yemi Alade (Come And See My Moda), Mugeez (Baddest Boss) and Patoranking (Say My Name), among many others, have been praised as well.

Success without Lynx

Most artistes thrive on the back of the support from their record labels. Vee’s early years were held up by Lynx Entertainment and this partnership seemed to be a match made in heaven.

Her split from Lynx in 2019 was a shock and led to some suggestions that Vee’s career had run its course. Since going solo, however, the talented singer’s career has reached even greater heights.

InVeencible, her first album since leaving Lynx released at the end of 2020 was a smash-hit.

A diva of live/stage performances

In an era where live performances are a dime a dozen and ‘good’ live performances are even rarer, Vee remains a shining light. Able to hold an audience captive and leave them wanting more, Vee leverages her oral talents a lot more than most contemporary artistes.

Plus, she’s not a bad dancer either.

A woman of many talents

While many artistes, understandably worried about their careers crashing and burning, prefer to keep it simple and stick to what they know, Vee has not been afraid to branch away from her R&B roots.

Her Reggae/Dancehall Collaboration of the Year win at the 2017 Bass Awards and Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year nomination at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards are proof of her “Vee-satility” (wink, wink)

A bonus point – and this might be a tad biased – she’s Ewe and you can never go wrong with Ewe women.

From Grass To Grace: Superintendent Kofi Sarpong Shares His Bitter Sweet Story

Celebrated gospel musician and police officer, Chief Superintendent Kofi Sarpong, has given Ghanaians a way to his private life with his grass to grace story.

The renowned musician has narrated how financial constraints caused him to drop out of school thrice while growing up.

Just like it is the wish and dream of every child to grow with his parents, who will successfully see them through school, his case was different.

His life and education, according to him, took a different twist when his father, who was a policeman, left home without looking back.

A situation he said arose from his frequent transfers during active service but at a point, his grandmother vowed not to allow his mother to relocate with him again, hence he also left the family.

“I am from Berekum and that was where I lived most of my life but my father as a policeman was often transferred and we had to move along.

“But at a point, my grandmother stopped my mother from any relocation because she was fed up. My father also left and never returned until I was about to write my O’level exam,” he narrated on Adom TV’s M’ashyese3 show with Afia Amankwa Tamakloe.

Chief Supt Sarpong said the development massively affected the payment of his fees and he could not endure the challenges which he faced in school as a result.

“I was someone who was afraid of lashes but the case was that we go to school every Monday morning and I received lashes over non-payment of fees.

“I couldn’t bear it any longer and had to drop out three times along the way,” he added.

Amidst these twists and turns of his life, he said he did not give up but was inspired to do something for himself in order to succeed.
