Man Electrocuted in Alleged Attempt to Steal Transformer in Eastern Region

An unidentified man, believed to be in his early 30s, was electrocuted while allegedly attempting to steal an ECG transformer in Suhyen, New Juaben North Municipality, Eastern Region.

On Tuesday morning, residents of Suhyen discovered the lifeless body of the man near the ECG transformer, with no visible signs of assault.

Recently, installations of the power distribution company have faced frequent attacks in the Eastern Region, severely impacting the company’s operations.

Personnel from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), along with the Koforidua Effiduase Police Divisional Command, were informed of the incident and arrived at the scene to begin investigations to determine the actual cause of death.

Daniel Kankam Twumasi, New Juaben North Municipal Deputy Director of NADMO, confirmed the incident, stating that the body has been deposited at Effiduase St. Joseph Hospital.
