General Overseer of Spirit Life Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun, has assured his congregation of his commitment to his calling, despite announcing a temporary withdrawal from preaching following the failure of his prophecy concerning the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries.
Addressing worshippers during a church service on Sunday, February 1, Prophet ElBernard said he could not control how individuals reacted to recent developments but emphasised that he had not abandoned his ministry.
“I can’t influence and determine how you respond and react, but I want you to understand that I’m still here. I am not going to ask you to stay here, neither am I asking you to leave,” he said, adding that his decision was rooted in humility and responsibility. “But I will be back.”
He explained that he found it necessary to openly address the unfulfilled prophecy before the service ended. His remarks were anchored on his book, School of Prophecy, particularly Chapter 16 titled “When a Prophet Misses It,” which he said outlines how prophets should respond when a prophetic declaration does not come to pass.
According to him, the book was written several years ago and officially released in 2025, and it clearly highlights principles of accountability and integrity in ministry.
Prophet Nelson-Eshun further noted that he does not seek encouragement from church members during such moments, but rather accountability.
Earlier, Prophet ElBernard issued a public apology in a statement shared on his Facebook page after his prophecy on the outcome of the NPP presidential primaries, held on January 31, 2026, failed to materialise.
Ahead of the primaries, he had predicted that former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, would win the contest, claiming the outcome had been revealed to him by an angel of God. He further stated that the number Mr. Agyapong picked during balloting would be his final position after the election.
However, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged victorious in the NPP presidential primaries, securing the party’s flagbearer position for the 2028 general elections.
