Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has expressed concerns over the quality of players in the current Black Stars squad, describing most of them as “average.”
Speaking on Sporty FM, Sannie Daara highlighted that apart from Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Thomas Partey, the majority of the squad lacks top-tier quality. He believes this has significantly contributed to Ghana’s recent struggles, including missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following back-to-back group stage exits in previous tournaments.
Head coach Otto Addo now faces the challenge of revitalizing the team amid growing doubts about his ability to lead them effectively.
The Black Stars are set to return to action in March when they face Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
