Antoine Semenyo continued his impressive start to life at Manchester City after matching a long-standing club record during Sunday’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Ghanaian winger became only the second player to score in four of his first five Premier League appearances for Manchester City, a feat previously achieved by Emmanuel Adebayor in 2009.
Despite Semenyo finding the net in the first half, Pep Guardiola’s side were unable to secure all three points, with the draw leaving City six points behind league leaders Arsenal with just 14 matches remaining.
January signing Marc Guehi endured a difficult second-half display, but Semenyo once again stood out, continuing his fine scoring form since arriving at the Etihad Stadium. Guardiola is expected to be encouraged by the winger’s impact, especially amid City’s struggles for consistency this season.

Looking ahead, City’s hopes of overhauling Arsenal may hinge on their home clash against the Gunners in April, a match they are likely to need to win. Guardiola has failed to beat Mikel Arteta in his last four meetings, and the pressure of the title run-in could yet test Arsenal’s resolve.
City also face a tough away fixture against Liverpool at Anfield next weekend, with the possibility of dropped points further threatening their Premier League ambitions. Should the gap to Arsenal extend beyond a two-match swing, City’s chances of reclaiming the title would diminish significantly.
