Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, will play Austria in an international friendly as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The match will take place at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, with Austria hosting the encounter. Both Ghana and Austria have already secured qualification for the tournament, which will be staged in June 2026 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Ghana has been drawn in Group I alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, while Austria will compete in Group J with world champions Argentina, Algeria, and Jordan.
The Austria fixture is one of two high-profile friendly matches scheduled for the Black Stars in March. Ghana will face Germany in their second friendly on Monday, March 30, 2026.
The friendly against Austria is set for Friday, March 27, 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
Ghana will begin its 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, in Toronto, before taking on England in Boston on June 23 and Croatia on June 27, 2026.
