The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of 12,452 candidates who sat for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates – First Series.
According to a press release issued on March 28, 2025, the candidates comprised 5,269 males and 7,998 females, while 738 registered candidates were absent from the exams.
WAEC also revealed that some cases of examination malpractice were detected during the exams and marking process. As a result, the subject results of 34 candidates and the entire results of 43 candidates have been withheld pending investigations.
Candidates can access their results on the WAEC website (www.waecgh.org).
Additionally, WAEC has cautioned students, parents, and guardians to beware of fraudsters who claim they can alter results for a fee. The Council emphasized that its results database is secure and that institutions and organizations should verify results directly from WAEC using its online verification service.
