The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the receipt of an additional GH₵35 million from the Ministry of Education to support the processing of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.
In a statement issued on December 27, WAEC confirmed that the funds were received on December 25 and are being utilized to scan objective answer cards and expedite the completion of results processing.
The Council assured the public of its commitment to releasing the results by the end of December, working diligently to meet its timeline despite financial constraints.
WAEC, however, appealed to the Ministry of Education to settle outstanding debts to enable the payment of supervisors, invigilators, script checkers, and suppliers of examination materials.
The Council extended its best wishes to stakeholders during the festive season and reiterated its dedication to fulfilling its mandate amidst ongoing financial challenges.
WAEC’s proactive measures aim to ensure that the 2024 WASSCE results are processed accurately and on time, maintaining the integrity of the examination system.
