Ronaldo: I would Sign Mbappe For Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazario has stated that if he could sign one player for Los Blancos, it would be Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

The 21-year-old has been persistently linked with a move to Real Madrid since lifting the World Cup with France in 2018, but the coronavirus crisis means it is highly unlikely that he arrives at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

“I would sign Mbappe,” Ronaldo responded when asked who he would sign for Real Madrid at a Banco Santander event.

“He reminds me a little bit of me because of his speed, because of how he finishes, because of how he shoots.

“He reminds me of my playing days.”

Erling Haaland is another player who has been linked with Real Madrid, thanks in part to the fact he’d be a cheaper option to Mbappe, and Ronaldo is a fan.

“He’s a great player,” the Brazilian stated.

“He’s still young, he’s having a pretty good year with a lot of goals.

“But let’s see how he finishes.

“He’s a player that I’m sure the big teams are going to be looking at.

“Real Madrid have very good players.

Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior, Ronaldo’s compatriots, have had turbulent campaigns at the Bernabeu this season, but the Real Valladolid owner made clear that the pair must continue to work on their craft.

“I think their role is going to be important,” Ronaldo explained.

“Neither Vinicius nor Rodrygo are undisputed starters at Real Madrid, but they have the quality and potential to be just that.

“They have to keep improving.”
