The Asokwa Circuit Court has remanded five suspects, including a pregnant woman, into police custody over the robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors at Krofrom and Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region.

According to police sources, the pregnant suspect allegedly acted as an informant for the criminal gang, gaining the trust of the victims by posing as a friend before leaking key details that facilitated the fatal attacks.

Both incidents ended in the tragic deaths of the vendors and the theft of large sums of money, sparking public outrage and fear among mobile money operators in the region.
