Pentecost Church Initiates 3-Day Prayer and Fasting for Abducted Deacon Following Church Robbery in South Africa

In response to the recent armed robbery incident at the Johannesburg branch of The Church of Pentecost, the church has declared a three-day period of prayer and fasting. The purpose of this spiritual observance is to seek divine intervention for the safe return of a deacon who was abducted during the robbery that occurred during a live service on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

During the live service, the congregation was disrupted by suspected armed robbers who not only stole valuable possessions from the churchgoers but also abducted a deacon, who has yet to be located. The Ghana High Commission in South Africa has confirmed the incident and is actively collaborating with local security agencies to ensure the deacon’s safe release.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost in Ghana, issued a statement dated October 31, 2023, announcing the three-day fasting period from October 31 to November 2, 2023. In addition to seeking the deacon’s return, the church’s intercession will also focus on global peace, with particular emphasis on the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.

The church is committed to working closely with Ghana’s High Commission in South Africa and the South African authorities to secure the safe release of the abducted deacon and to pray for peace in troubled regions across the globe.
