The raid, carried out on Friday, January 16, 2026, led to the arrest of a 32-year-old woman identified as Rebecca Afia Naa Dei Kotei, popularly known as “Mother.” She is described by local opinion leaders as a notorious drug dealer who had evaded arrest for a long period.
According to NACOC, the operation forms part of its nationwide campaign to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse. During the raid, officers seized suspected cannabis, tramadol, and other controlled substances, along with items believed to be linked to drug peddling activities.
Several other individuals connected to drug-related operations were also arrested during the exercise.
NACOC disclosed that the suspect had been under close surveillance for some time due to her alleged involvement in multiple drug trafficking activities. The Commission noted that it had received numerous complaints from residents concerning the activities of the suspects now in custody.
Officials assured the public that all those arrested would be processed and arraigned before court in accordance with the law. NACOC reiterated its commitment to intensifying efforts to dismantle drug networks and ensure a drug-free Ghana.
