Mahama commissions Kalsoume Sinare as Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain

John Dramani Mahama has officially commissioned Kalsoume Sinare (Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe) as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Spain.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, formalizes her appointment to represent Ghana’s interests in Spain and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

As ambassador, she will be responsible for promoting bilateral cooperation, attracting trade and investment, and advancing Ghana’s foreign policy objectives.

Kalsoume Sinare is a veteran Ghanaian actress, model, and filmmaker with a career spanning nearly four decades. She gained prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s through modelling and represented Ghana at the Miss Model of the World pageant in 1990, where she won Miss Model of Africa.

She later transitioned into acting, featuring in productions such as “Out of Sight,” “Babina,” “Trinity,” and “Sala,” among over fifty film and stage works.

Her contributions to the film industry have earned her multiple accolades, including a Golden Actress Award at the Golden Movie Awards for her role in “Sala.”

Beyond her entertainment career, she is also known for advocating women’s empowerment, youth development, and education.
