 John Boadu Appointed Director-General of SIGA

President Akufo-Addo has named John Boadu, the former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, as the Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), in accordance with Section 17(2) of the State Interests and Governance Authority Act, 2019 (Act 990).

The announcement came through an official statement released from the office of the president, affirming Boadu’s appointment to lead the Authority. The letter, addressed to Boadu, highlighted the appointment as an interim measure pending the receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the governing Board of the Authority. This advice is expected to be provided in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

Expressing congratulations on the appointment, the letter requested Boadu to confirm his acceptance of the position within 14 days of receiving the communication. It closed with the President extending his best wishes to Boadu.

John Boadu, a seasoned figure within the New Patriotic Party, assumes this pivotal role in overseeing the State Interests and Governance Authority, reflecting the government’s confidence in his capabilities to lead and manage critical governance matters.
