The government has announced that GHC1 billion from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) will be allocated to phase out the double-track system in Senior High Schools (SHSs).

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu made the disclosure during the commissioning of a new staff accommodation facility at Accra Girls’ Senior High School on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

He explained that the funds will be captured in the 2026 national budget to help address the infrastructure deficit that necessitated the introduction of the double-track policy.
