The Manhyia Palace has urged the public to disregard reports suggesting that it is involved in the burial and funeral arrangements of legendary highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a statement issued on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Palace made it clear that it has no role in any ongoing preparations for the late musician’s funeral. It cautioned the public to rely solely on verified information to avoid the spread of misinformation.
The clarification comes on the back of widely circulated reports claiming the Palace’s participation in setting arrangements for Daddy Lumba’s burial. Officials have dismissed such reports as false, misleading and capable of causing unnecessary confusion.
The matter is unfolding at a time when Daddy Lumba’s immediate family and extended relatives are divided over the appropriate date for his burial. The family has already rejected a trending funeral date of December 13, 2025, describing it as unauthorised and not sanctioned by them.
The Manhyia administration warned that media reports linking the Palace to the dispute risk deepening tensions surrounding the funeral plans. It therefore called on the public to ignore such claims and refrain from spreading unverified information that could further escalate misunderstandings around the late musician’s burial arrangements.
