The leadership of the 2023 cohort of Ghana School of Law students has expressed their satisfaction with the success rate of this year’s bar examination results. Over 900 individuals have received passing marks from the Independent Examination Committee of the General Legal Council, which includes 499 students who were initially denied admission to the Ghana School of Law two years ago but later gained entry after a series of protests and appeals.
Following the release of the results, Odupong Agyapong Atta-Agyapong, the immediate past Student Representative Council (SRC) president of the Ghana School of Law, remarked on the excitement among the students. He noted that this year’s bar call ceremony is set to mark a historic occasion with a record number of over 900 students being called to the bar.
Atta-Agyapong encouraged students who did not make it on the pass list not to lose hope and to continue working towards their goal. He highlighted the upcoming mini-call scheduled for March next year, where these students will have the opportunity to sit for supplementary exams, and when successful, they too will join the ranks of those being called to the bar.
