Two employees of the Asomdwie Rubber Company were on Monday found dead in a parked vehicle at the premises of a shoe factory at Atonsu Agogo in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased include a senior staff member identified as Baba, and a female colleague who had worked with the company for less than two months. They were discovered on the back seat of the vehicle, with the woman’s head resting on Baba. Baba was reportedly dressed in only a singlet and shorts. The car’s tinted windows were rolled up, and the doors were locked at the time of discovery.

According to sources, both individuals had earlier attended the wedding of a company manager on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Later that evening, the female employee, who had reported for work after the event, complained of feeling unwell and was asked to go home.

Around 8 pm that same evening, residents observed Baba’s vehicle entering the area and parking with the engine running. The engine reportedly went off shortly after. The car remained in the same position throughout Sunday, November 23, raising concerns among workers and residents, especially after a foul smell began to emanate from the area on Monday.

Police officers were notified and forced to break the windows of the locked vehicle, where they found the lifeless bodies of the two employees.

Preliminary reports suggest that Baba, who married in August 2025 and whose wife is currently pregnant, and the deceased female colleague, who was preparing for her wedding in December 2025, may have met their untimely deaths under unclear circumstances. The cause of death has not yet been established.

Police have commenced investigations, and the bodies have been taken for autopsy to determine what led to the tragic incident.
