Sampa: Policeman Killed in Rival Clash as Masked Gunmen Attack Township

Gunmen wearing masks stormed Sampa in the Bono Region on Sunday afternoon, unleashing gunfire during a violent clash between rival groups that left one police officer dead and several others injured.

According to reports, the incident caused panic among residents as the armed men opened fire in different parts of the township. The deceased officer was struck during the exchange and was pronounced dead on Sunday.

Medical personnel at the Sampa Government Hospital called for urgent reinforcement from health workers to assist in managing multiple casualties.

In an audio message circulated on WhatsApp, a medical officer described the situation as a “mass casualty” and urged all available health professionals to report to the hospital immediately to support emergency response efforts.

Security reinforcements have since been deployed to the area to restore calm and ensure the safety of residents. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the assailants and determine the motive behind the attack.
