Police intercept GH¢1.03m cocaine shipment, arrest Nigerian national at Kpotame

Police officers stationed at a checkpoint in Kpotame along the Accra–Aflao Highway have intercepted a suspected cocaine shipment valued at approximately GH¢1.03 million.

The illicit drugs were discovered in a black Liberty Jeep during a routine inspection. The vehicle was being driven by a Nigerian national identified as Charles Adenkule.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly attempted to bribe police officers with an amount of $20,000 in a bid to evade arrest. The attempted bribe reportedly heightened suspicion, leading to his immediate detention.

The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue to determine the source and intended destination of the suspected cocaine. Authorities say further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
