Some family members of Bishop Daniel Obinim has made claims that the police are deliberately delaying the bail process of Obinim in order to keep him in their custody.
The two relatives, Madam Elsie Asiedu and Madam Jennifer Quartey told Starr FM in an interview. They complained that the Police, headed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)are deliberately frustrating the bail process in order to keep him in their custody despite the fact that they’ve submitted all needed documents.
They added that they have been at the police station since 7 in the morning without anyone working on the bail process.
The police claims the preacher is still in custody because he’s unable to meet the conditions of the bail as given by the Magistrate Court.
However, the family members of the head of the International Gods Way Church have asked the police to facilitate the bail process and release him.
Bishop Daniel Obinim was charged with false publication of news and forgery of document which goes contrary to the section 208 and 159 of the Criminal And Other Offences Act (Act 29). He was also granted a bail of hundred thousand Ghana Cedis.
