The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has initiated the nomination process for the upcoming Sunyani East Constituency Parliamentary primaries. In a recent press release, the party disclosed that nomination forms are available for purchase at a non-refundable rate of GH¢3,000, alongside a filing fee of GH¢35,000.
Nevertheless, the party has introduced a significant rebate for specific demographics. Women, Youth, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) aspiring for higher political roles will benefit from a 50% discount on the filing fees. Consequently, they will be required to pay a reduced non-refundable filing fee of GHC 17,500.00.
Additionally, the party has mandated that all Aspiring Parliamentary Candidates, excluding the incumbent Member of Parliament, must pay a Party Development Fee of GHC40,000.00.
Furthermore, the party emphasized that no Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate would be denied access to purchasing Nomination Forms. This move aims to ensure inclusivity and encourage broader participation in the political process.
