Mobile Money Vendor Shot Dead in Kumasi

A mobile money vendor, identified as Patricia Nimako, has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers at Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Patricia’s mobile money shop, where she was conducting business when the attackers struck.

According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants arrived on a motorbike, posing as customers before demanding an undisclosed amount of money from her. When she hesitated, they shot her twice and fled the scene with the cash.

“We quickly rushed her to Manhyia Hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival,” an eyewitness, Yaw Nsiah, told reporters.

The incident has left residents and business owners in fear and panic, raising concerns about the increasing spate of armed robberies in the area.

Meanwhile, local authorities have launched investigations into the case, with security agencies working to track down the perpetrators.
