I Will Focus my Campaign on Ideas not Insults – Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has committed to focusing his campaign on tackling Ghana’s social and economic issues rather than engaging in a campaign of insults.

During a visit to Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV at his Palace in Wa on Sunday, May 19, Dr. Bawumia assured the chief that he would follow his guidance to maintain a respectful and proper campaign devoid of insults.

“I am very much guided by your advice, and it is one that I have been implementing by sharing my ideas with the people of Ghana without insulting anyone. This approach has characterized my campaign, and it will continue to do so.

We aim to communicate to Ghanaians what I plan to do as president and what we have achieved as a government, seeking their support to move to the next level,” Dr. Bawumia stated.

Dr. Bawumia also requested the support of Wa Naa and his people in the upcoming general elections on December 7, where he faces his main competitor, John Dramani Mahama.

“Myself and my main opponent, John Dramani Mahama, are both your children from the North. He has previously served as president, while I have not.

I have conveyed to him that he is my senior brother and should allow me the opportunity to serve as president of this country.

“I am eligible to serve as president for eight years, while he can only serve for four more years. Therefore, if the presidency is to remain in the North, it would be more beneficial for us to have it for eight years instead of just four,” Dr. Bawumia added.
