GNFS Rescues 16 Victims After Head-On Crash at Nyamebekyere

Sixteen people have been rescued after a head-on collision between a Ford Transit (AS 7172-23) and a Kia Rhino (AS 3058-X) on the Sunyani–Kumasi highway at Nyamebekyere.

Firefighters from the Bechem Fire Station rushed to the scene at 5:38 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, after receiving a distress call. An eight-member team led by STNO II Simon Yeboah successfully extricated all passengers—14 from the Ford Transit and two from the Kia Rhino.

The victims, who sustained varying degrees of injuries, were taken to the Bechem Government Hospital and PISGAH Advanced Medical Center for medical care. No deaths were recorded.

Both vehicles suffered severe damage, and authorities have begun investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
