The Ministry of the Interior has announced that Friday, July 4, 2025, has been declared a public holiday across the country.
In a statement released on Thursday, June 26, the Ministry explained that although Republic Day falls on Tuesday, July 1, the President, John Dramani Mahama, has declared Friday a public holiday through an Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2021 (Act 601).
The announcement, signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, called on the general public to observe the holiday nationwide.
This move effectively creates a long weekend for Ghanaians, offering citizens an extended period for rest, travel, or celebration.
