Five Aspirants Cleared for Ayawaso East NDC Parliamentary Primary

Five aspirants have been approved to contest the Ayawaso East parliamentary primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following a successful vetting exercise.

The vetting took place at the NDC Greater Accra Regional Office, after which the aspirants balloted for their positions ahead of the primary scheduled for February 7, 2026.

The cleared candidates, in the order of balloting, are Mohammed Ramme, NDC Constituency Chairman; Amina Adam, widow of the late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East; Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria; Yakubu Azindow; and Najib Mohammed.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, January 28, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the NDC, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, commended the aspirants for their cooperation throughout the vetting process.

He urged them to campaign responsibly within the constituency to ensure a smooth and successful primary process.
