The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has rescued seven Nigerian nationals who were trafficked into Ghana to engage in illegal cyber fraud activities. The operation, carried out on Friday, November 14, 2025, formed part of EOCO’s ongoing Operation LIFELINE.

A total of 10 people were picked up during the raid—three suspects and seven victims, all Nigerian nationals. The rescued victims, aged between 17 and 30, were allegedly deceived with promises of legitimate employment but were later forced into exploitative online fraud operations under harsh conditions.

EOCO is urging the public to report suspicious activities through its hotline and other law enforcement channels. Landlords are also advised to verify the backgrounds of foreign tenants before renting out properties to help curb such criminal networks.

The Office reiterated its commitment to cracking down on cybercrime and prosecuting offenders while protecting victims of trafficking and exploitation.
