Ghanaian newly installed IGP Dampare has earned the praise of Ghanaians once again following the arrest of Sekondi-Takoradi MCE for assaulting a Police Offer.
Sekondi-Takoradi MCE, Abdul Mumuni Issa was caught on tape insulting a police officer who refused to allow him to bypass a queue at a checkpoint.
The MCE initially tried to bribe the police officer, however, upon refusal to take the bribe and allow him to skip the long queue at the checkpoint got him furious.
In the audio, Mr Abdul Mumuni Issa was heard insulting and threatening the police officer to get him fired from his office.
The Police officer did not clap back at him but assured the MCE he will get him arrested.
Following that, Police in a statement revealed that the MCE has been arrested and dragged to court for assaulting a police officer.

Most Public officials like the Secondi-Takoradi MCE think they are demi gods and above the law. And indeed the system reinforces their behaviour. Leaders want to be served instead of serving . Rule of Law is just on paper but Dampare gives some hope.
