Botho University of Botswana has inaugurated its first West African campus in Ghana, aiming to deliver high-quality and accessible education across Africa.

This new campus marks Botho University’s fifth on the continent and underscores its commitment to educational excellence. Accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the university strives to provide education that meets global standards, preparing graduates for industry demands both locally and internationally.

During the opening ceremony, Vice-Chancellor and Managing Director Dr. Sheela Raja Ram expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their support in establishing the campus, noting the three-year effort to meet all regulatory requirements. “I stand here humbled by your presence at the Botho University Ghana campus opening ceremony. This journey has taken a good three years to complete all the required regulatory approvals. A huge thank you to GTEC. While Botho University is new in Ghana, we are a 27-year-old African institution, born in Botswana, with a strong presence across Southern Africa,” she said.

Dr. Raja Ram emphasized the strategic importance of the university’s presence in Ghana, highlighting the nation’s large youthful population with aspirations for quality higher education. “Ghana is special, not only because of its central position in African history and culture but also because it has a large population of young people with great aspirations for good quality higher education. We are ready to serve you with high-quality, focused, higher education as a modern Pan-African University,” she added.
