AS Roma has officially confirmed the departure of José Mourinho and his coaching staff from the club, effective immediately.
Mourinho, who was introduced as the 60th coach of the Giallorossi in May 2021, successfully led the team to victory in the Conference League in Tirana on May 25th, 2022, and to the Europa League final in Budapest last season.
The Friedkin brothers, Dan and Ryan, expressed their gratitude to Mourinho, stating, “We appreciate José’s passion and efforts since joining AS Roma. While we cherish the memories of his time with the club, we believe an immediate change is in the best interests of the team.”
They added, “We wish José and his assistants the best in their future endeavors.”
