Ali Suraj Declares Bid for NPP National Nasara Organiser

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ali Suraj, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of National Nasara Organiser when nominations are opened.

In a declaration addressed to party members and supporters on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Alhaji Suraj said his decision follows consultations and encouragement from stakeholders across the party after what he described as a successful presidential primaries that produced Mahamudu Bawumia as flagbearer.

He explained that his decision was driven by calls for renewed leadership anchored on the founding values and democratic ideals of the party and the Nasara fraternity.

Alhaji Suraj, who previously served as a Nasara Coordinator in the United States and has held roles on various party committees, said the support from grassroots members nationwide has strengthened his resolve to contest the position.

According to him, his ambition is to re-energise and consolidate the party’s support base in Zongo communities ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He outlined key policy priorities, including the establishment of a strengthened national Nasara administration, repositioning the Nasara fraternity as a year-round bridge with Muslim and Zongo communities, and building a more vibrant and well-resourced Nasara wing.

Other proposals include promoting trust, discipline, and opportunity within the fraternity, as well as introducing a welfare-driven system to enhance mobilisation in Zongo and settler communities.

Alhaji Suraj called on party delegates and supporters to back his candidacy, stating that the position requires experienced leadership to help the party secure victory in the 2028 elections.
