Telecel Ghana is set to turn the University of Ghana into a hotspot of music, dance, and youth culture this Valentine’s Day as Black Sherif, KiDi, and Kweku Smoke headline its flagship campus party, Telecel TurnUp.

Scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2026, the event will climax the University of Ghana’s Akwaaba Week celebrations at the Athletic Oval, promising a night of nonstop entertainment for students and music lovers.

The Valentine’s Day show will be anchored by some of Ghana’s most exciting music stars. Black Sherif is expected to thrill fans with his high-energy performances and global hits, while KiDi, Ghana’s celebrated “Sugar Daddy,” brings his smooth vocals and love-themed anthems to match the Valentine’s mood. Completing the powerhouse lineup is Gen-Z favourite Kweku Smoke, whose energetic stage presence is expected to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

Speaking on the event, Director of Enterprise Business and Wholesale at Telecel Ghana, Tawa Bolarin, said Telecel TurnUp is designed to celebrate the company’s strong partnerships with tertiary institutions through its student-focused bundles.

“TurnUp is our flagship campus party created specifically to celebrate tertiary institutions benefitting from our special packages. We organise it every year to appreciate our relationship with the host university and the student population, who are a major part of the Telecel brand,” she said, adding, “It could be your university next year.”

A major highlight of the event is the Telecel Next TurnUp Star talent discovery challenge. University of Ghana students with music or dance talents are encouraged to post short performance videos on Instagram or TikTok, tagging Telecel Ghana and using the hashtag #TelecelNextTurnUpStar. Shortlisted talents will be selected based on fan engagement, with four finalists earning the opportunity to perform on the same stage as Black Sherif, KiDi, and Kweku Smoke.

The two most outstanding performers—one in music and one in dance—will be crowned Telecel Next TurnUp Stars and will each receive GH₵10,000, alongside valuable exposure.

Beyond entertainment, Telecel Ghana is using the event to deepen its engagement with students. As part of Akwaaba Week activities, the company will host a two-day Cashless Bazaar ahead of the main event, allowing students to shop, eat, and relax using Telecel Cash.

Telecel will also operate Service Clinics on campus, offering SIM registration, SIM swaps, Telecel Cash setup, and network support. Brand partners including Bel Beverage, Coca-Cola, Hotwav, iTel, and Close Up will roll out activations and giveaways, while Uber will provide discounted rides to and from campus for added convenience.

Since its launch in 2021, Telecel TurnUp has grown into one of Ghana’s most anticipated campus events, previously hosted at KNUST in 2022 and the University of Energy and Natural Resources in 2024.

The event is exclusive to Telecel users, with students encouraged to purchase and activate SIM cards at designated activation points across the traditional halls ahead of Valentine’s Day.
