GES Declares January 23 as National CPD Day for Teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared Friday, January 23, 2026, as a National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day for teachers across the country.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, January 15, 2026, GES said the decision underscores the importance of continuous professional development in improving teaching quality and strengthening the professional capacity of educators nationwide.

According to the Service, the declaration is in recognition of the critical role CPD plays in equipping teachers with relevant skills and knowledge to meet evolving educational demands.

The designated CPD Day is intended to provide teachers with dedicated institutional support and uninterrupted time to participate in Phase Two of the Cybersecurity and Data Protection training programme.

GES explained that the initiative will ensure all teachers across the country can take part in the training without disruption, as part of efforts to build their capacity in cybersecurity awareness and data protection practices.

The Service reaffirmed its commitment to investing in teacher development as a key pillar of quality education delivery in Ghana.
