Sam George Appointed Minister-Designate for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation

President John Dramani Mahama has named Samuel Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, as the Minister-Designate for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation.

Sam Nartey George, born on January 22, 1985, in Somanya in the Eastern Region of Ghana, is a seasoned politician and agricultural engineer. He represents the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and has been serving as MP for Ningo-Prampram since 2017 after defeating long-standing MP Enoch Teye Mensah in the NDC primaries for the 2016 elections.

In addition to his parliamentary role, he is a member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Communications Committee, bringing extensive experience to his new ministerial appointment.

Sam George holds a BSc in Agricultural Engineering (Soil & Water Engineering) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and an LL.B from the University of London. He also holds advanced degrees in Conflict, Peace, and Security from KAIPTC and International Strategy and Diplomacy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Known for his strong stance on controversial issues, including his leadership role in the anti-LGBTQI legislation, Sam George has remained a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, championing national and constituency-level development.

As Minister-Designate for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Sam George is expected to drive Ghana’s digital transformation, leveraging his expertise and experience to advance technological innovation and connectivity across the country.
