EC Updates 2024 Presidential Election Results with Eight More Constituencies; One Still Outstanding

The Electoral Commission (EC) has provided an updated tally of the 2024 presidential election results, incorporating eight additional constituencies. One constituency remains outstanding as of the latest announcement.

This update builds upon the initial results announced on December 9, 2024, which were based on 267 out of the 276 constituencies. The revised figures include the total valid votes, rejected ballots, and total votes cast.

President John Dramani Mahama retained his position with a decisive victory over his closest rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Dr. Bawumia secured 4,877,611 votes, falling short of President Mahama’s lead.

A notable performance came from Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, representing The New Force movement. He garnered 88,944 votes, equivalent to 0.76% of the total votes cast, making a significant impact as a smaller-party candidate.
