Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has sparked controversy with his latest remarks about rising star Black Sherif. Speaking on Angel FM, Shatta Wale clarified that his earlier comments about Black Sherif’s fashion sense were misunderstood. He explained that he had only expressed his inability to relate to Black Sherif’s style and did not mean to imply that the young artist dressed poorly.
The “Ayoo” hitmaker revealed that the misunderstanding escalated when Black Sherif posted a picture of him on Snapchat. In response, Shatta Wale claimed, “It will take Black Sherif 10 years to buy the diamonds I have now.”
Shatta Wale also cautioned Black Sherif about the challenges of navigating the music industry, stating that the “agenda” being created around him might backfire. “I like playing, but if you start taking offence at everything I say, it’s going to worry him,” he added.
Furthermore, Shatta Wale criticized Black Sherif for allegedly listening to others in the industry and following a path he believes has been ineffective for artists in the past.
