A 19-year-old self-proclaimed native doctor, Timothy Dauda, has been taken into custody in Edo State after fatally shooting a client during the testing of a bulletproof charm he had prepared.
The tragic incident unfolded when Dauda, known for crafting protective charms against firearms and cutlasses, attempted to prove the effectiveness of his latest creation on his client, Alex Ezekiel.
According to SP Moses Joel Yamu, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Ezekiel had visited Dauda to acquire a bulletproof charm for his personal protection. To demonstrate the charm’s potency, Dauda fired a gun at Ezekiel, but the charm failed, resulting in Ezekiel sustaining fatal injuries.
Ezekiel was rushed to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra, where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Following the incident, law enforcement officers from the Igarra Division arrested Dauda. SP Yamu confirmed that Dauda will be prosecuted once the investigation is concluded.
