Mark Selorm Coffie Secures Victory in Volta FA Executive Council Election

Chief Executive Officer of Nadm SC, a Division Two Club, Mark Selorm Coffie, emerged victorious in the recent election held by the Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) in Ho, the capital city of Volta.

During the election held at the Ho Municipal Assembly Hall, Coffie gained the highest number of votes among 136 members present, securing a place on the Executive Council of the Regional Football Association.

Supervised by Mr. Malcolm Appeadu of the GFA Elections Committee, the election witnessed an intense competition among four candidates vying for three available slots on the Executive Council.

Mark Selorm Coffie garnered 53 votes, leading the race, followed by Wisdom Bakah Junior with 49 votes, and Hamza Mutala securing 40 votes. Newcomer Jeremy Mawunyega Asafo secured 35 votes, placing last.

This victory marks Coffie’s second consecutive term on the Executive Council, having previously secured the highest number of votes (28) in the 2020 elections.

The newly elected members, Coffie, Bakah, and Mutala, will join eight others and the Regional Chairman to form an 11-member Executive Council. Innocencia Agbavitor, Martin Torku, Frank Fudzi Foster Kudiabor, and Williams Korshie Ackumey were unopposed in their respective categories representing women’s football, coaches, referees, and juvenile football on the council.

Meanwhile, two positions are reserved for representation from the District Football Association, with district elections expected to be announced soon.

Daniel Agbogah, the VRFA Chairman, was re-elected via popular acclamation as he continued his unopposed tenure for another four years.
