Empire Music Pulls Down Mr. Drew’s ‘Eat’, No. 7 Trending.

Ghanaian musical artist, Mr. Drew’s new banger titled ‘Eat’ has been pulled down by Empire musical due to copyright reasons.

The highly spiritual signee is in the news for a negative reason due to the fact that he copied some lyrics and rhythm of Rotimi’s work.

According to reports, Mr. Drew didn’t seek for permission from Rotimi before making a sample of his (Rotimi’s) work hence his music was reported and blocked on YouTube. Mr Drew’s ‘Eat’ was doing well on YouTube with 151k views and was No. 7 trending.

It looks like the attitude of sampling people’s work without their permission is an unrelenting attitude of the Ghanaian artist. Who knows when he will stop the act of sampling people’s work and making it his own.

First, Mr. Drew together with his management stole Kurl songs ‘Dw3’ and made it his own which featured Sarkodie and Krymi. Kurl songs complained and accused Kaywa and Mr Drew of stealing his work but the issue laid low gradually. They got away with it silently without getting penalized for stealing his work. They finally had their way with their actions because no one seemed to talk about it anymore. Probably, people thought that would be his first and last time stealing someone’s work. However, that isn’t the case at all.

Mr Drew went on to steal the work of the American actor and musician’s work titled ‘Love Riddim’ which was released a year ago which had over 20 million views on YouTube.

The ‘Gimme Love’ hitmaker used the lyrics and rhythm of Rotimi’s Love Riddim and retitled it to ‘Eat’ which was at No.7 on the trending list. Through a critical analysis done by Ghana Articles, it was observed that anytime he takes the works of some other musicians, he features top and influential Ghanaian artistes in order to make the trends.
Looking at his ‘Dw3’, he featured multiple award winning rapper Sarkodie and gained 2 million views on YouTube. He equally featured award winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy in his new stolen song titled ‘Eat’ which is originally the work of Rotimi. Before the music was reported, it was No.7 trending with over 151k views which was released on May 22, 2020.

Mr Drew in a post on his Instagram page tagged Rotimi and admitted in his post that the original song was from Rotimi the very day the song was released. However it is obvious he did not seek permission from him, because if he did sought permission, his video wouldn’t have been pulled down and blocked on YouTube.

For the first time, the Highly Spiritual signee has been brought to book when he was reported to Rotimi for sampling his work.
